How to prepare the Perfect Flat White
The Flat White has become a staple in many coffee shops around the world, and now you can enjoy it in the comfort of your own home. With our easy-to-follow recipe, you can recreate this delicious and velvety drink effortlessly.
To make the perfect Flat White, you will need the following ingredients:
- 80 ml of coffee
- 220 ml of milk
- 50 ml of milk foam
Begin by frothing 270 ml of hot milk in your milk frother. Remember, always froth the milk before brewing the espresso to prevent it from cooling down too quickly.
Next, brew two shots of espresso using our Tchibo BARISTA Espresso or any other high-quality espresso. Pour the frothed milk into the cups with the brewed espresso, making sure to pour more liquid milk than foam. Ideally, the foam should be around 5 mm thick.
If desired, you can add some latte art to your Flat White for an extra touch of creativity. Impress your guests with your artistic skills and elevate your coffee experience to new heights.
What Sets a Flat White Apart from a Cappuccino?
At first glance, a Flat White and a Cappuccino may seem similar, but there are subtle differences that set them apart. While both beverages have an espresso base and milk foam, the Flat White distinguishes itself with a more intense coffee flavor and less foam.
Baristas prepare a Flat White using a double shot of espresso, allowing a thin layer of almost liquid milk foam to flow into the cup. This technique gives the Flat White its signature look—a flat, white milk layer. The fine-textured, liquid foam is also perfect for creative latte art.
